President Trump Lifts Travel Restrictions for Chad
4/11/2018
Last night President Trump lifted travel restrictions for citizens of Chad by modifying an earlier executive order implementing the third version of his travel ban. A press release from the State Department said yesterday citizens of Chad will again be able to attain visas after Friday, April 13.
President Trump's statement on the revised travel ban noted that a 180-day review conducted by the State Department and Department of Homeland Security showed that Chad had made improvements in its identity-management and identity-sharing practices. The executive order's travel restrictions on Syria, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Venezuela, and Yemen are still in effect. The U.S. Supreme Court agreed in January to review the third travel ban, thus allowing it to take effect while the justices deliberate.
