Effect of Partial Government Shutdown
12/26/2018
Since the end of the day Friday, December 21, 2018, the federal government has been partially shut down. USCIS' filing fee-funded operations, however, are unaffected by the partial shutdown. In its announcement, USCIS confirmed its offices remain open, all individuals should attend scheduled interviews and appointments, and USCIS will continue to accept petitions and applications for most immigration benefits. In addition, the Department of Labor, which processes Labor Condition Applications, is already funded for Fiscal Year 2019.
Programs affected by the partial shutdown include:
⢠The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Regional Center Program
⢠E-Verify
⢠The Conrad 30 Waiver Program for J-1 Medical Doctors
⢠The EB-4 Immigrant Visa Category for Non-Minister Special Immigrant Religious Workers
